upon further test of the headers. medyo pansin ko lang boss sid is that lower response yung high end ko. ayaw na siya sumagad ngayon sa 6500rpm. nagshift agad on lower rpm around 5000 - 5500rpm on 2nd gear and up. just like what i said ok siya sa low end 1st and 2nd gear but sa high end wala talaga.. di kaya dahil dun kaya hanggang 164kph na lang top speed? what could be the problem? just wondering.

anyways i change again my headers to stock. will try it today on long drive again to subic with stock headers naman.

you still have the stock intake right? I think its getting choked up on the high rpms because of the stock intake and filter. your not getting enough airflow to the engine.

This is why an intake is always the first mod.

the only way we can test it is by actual scenario..
if i remember it right, putting the intake on paul's xty, with the dyno, it has only a gain of about 3hp.. would that 3hp gain actually translate to power loss in the high end?.. just a question..

Don't give up on the headers muna, makes sense naman that you should test them with an intake. The headers give your car power earlier (at a more usable range btw) but take it from top end. Maybe with an intake it will give you both Very Happy

Yeah I think you should test it with the intake 1st big possibility is that on higher RPM your engine ask for more air to be sent to it but the intake system is not able to catch up with the required air thats why rather than getting the engine choke it just shift to next gear to lower the required air.

paul, did your xty with stock headers really reach 180kph? kasi mine with intake, headers , full exhaust, and safc reach only 172kph max only.. sa SCTEX din... any pix?

here's a pic.

same stretch @ SCTEX. the difference is this time it was a hot sunny afternoon.

maraming pwede dahilan kung bakit nagkaganon. pwede rin kc hindi fit for 2.0 engine yung headers. and maybe it will perform better on a 2.5. just like what mike said would the intake really have that much effect?

for now im happy with the headers stock. at ayaw ng mommy ko yung sound ng nakaheaders maingay daw. huhuhu.. kaya din ako ng back to stock.

pero parang mas ok yung suggestion ni boss t-spec. hehehe Laughing Laughing
