mga bossing,

plano ko po bumili ng 2nd hand extrail, went to a bank warehouse and saw a nissan xtrail 2005 model, 22T km mileage. Pero meron problema sabi ng caretaker, ayaw mag start ng xtrail. Im going back to the warehouse this weekend, sana meron makatulong po sa inyo kung ano dapat kong i-tsek sa sasakyan. Baka po meron kayo idea ano problema ng xtrail na gusto kong bilhin.

maraming salamat po..sana po ay makakuha ako kahit kaunting impormasyon sa inyo.

Hi gieluna, sorry for moving your post, off topic siya where you posted it. Anyway, there are many reasons why the XTY (or any car for that matter...) won't start. Here's some tips for you:

WORST CASE - since it came from a bank warehouse, was it repossesed? some a-holes pissed off at the bank, sabotage these cars by putting sand or water in the fuel tank. under no circumstance should you start these cars or even buy them...to be sure, go with a mechanic to check.

BEST CASE - is the battery ok? if you just want to check out the car, jump-start mo nalang. also, don't laugh, but does it have fuel? sparkplugs fouled up? was it driven off-road? is there dirt in the exhaust pipe? is there dirt in the air filter? is the mass-airflow sensor working?

Without more info, that's the best I can give you. The best thing talaga is to go with someone who knows how to diagnose cars. GOOD LUCK!

i hope di naman mag fall sa worst scenario yung xtrail na gusto ko bilhin. Sad

repossessed lang sya ng bank.

salamat ng marami sa info mo.... hope someday mag ka xtrail na din ako tulad nyo... Very Happy

i'm guessing na pag binili mo from the bank it should be in running condition and if not they will have it fixed? if their selling terms is "as is" then don't get it. or if it's an auction or bidding, bid 25k, no more, no less. that amount will take care of the deed transfers and the rest of your budget will go to fixing the car.

went back there last saturday, may kasama akong mechanic, pero Toyota kasi hawak nya, check the nissan xtrail, ayaw mag start pero nag reredondo lang, sabi nya mukhang ok naman makina, pero electrical ang problema, it could be the computer box or baka daw yung relay lang. Sabi ng caretaker ok naman daw yun ng hinatak nila kasi sya nagdrive papunta warehouse, ilang buwan na daw kasi di na start yun. Help me naman po, mga magknao kaya magagastos ko kung computer box po ang sira nito? would it cost me above 50K?

I believe it would, baka more pa nga...but you're sure its not as simple as changing the battery? Pag rumeredondo naman, its usually the battery lang. Did you try taking out the battery terminals, cleaning them, putting them back then pounding on the battery terminal posts? Sometimes that's all it takes...if not, jump start it...or borrow a battery from another car (2sm dapat)...

ibang battery ginamit namin bossing, electrical daw problema, ayaw tumuloy talaga pag start sya. mga magkano kaya price ng computer box? bid ko sana sya for 450K, di ba mataas bid ko? price nya is 540K negotiable. nasa 20k-30k lang allowance ko for repairs sana, pero baka mas malaki pa gagastusin..

Yup, the computer box is in the vicinity of 50k plus installation pa. If I may be frank, and it is the computer box that's broken, I wouldn't buy the vehicle at all. However, the only time I've heard of a computer box breaking down (not counting an inexperienced tuner tampering with it )is when it's been submerged in water i.e. flood...assuming it hasn't, I still think something else is the problem...

sir gieluna good p.m. - like sir chubibo said, if 'as is, where is' ang labanan sa bank & you say you're bidding
450K for the unit, then i do hope you'd consider taking your time to look around for other units.
definitely you'd be able to find other xtys in far better running condition na konti lang ipapagawa mo.
plus, if the unit has been idle for quite sometime then you're bound to run into other problems
(clogged injectors, dirty fuel tank, filters, unreliable drive belts, suspect oils & fluids, aircon etc.)
and the list may go on & on once you get it to run, if ever. besides these repo units may have been used negligently while in storage
(it's quite clandestinely possible) & you never know...
baka sumakit ulo mo, or your gastos may not be worth it.
another option is to try to talk to the bank & negotiate a better deal, & to get another 'nissan-specialista' mechanic to check the car further.

maraming salamat po sa input ninyo, might as well look for another vehicle, pero luv ko talaga ang xtrail, kaya lang mukhang kukulangin budget ko sa pagpapagawa...hehehe.

nakaka inlab talaga xtrail...kaso lang sir hanggang 2nd hand lang ang kaya ko sa ngayon.
