I know a couple of you guys have a Short RAM intake installed, but how about a cold air intake? any of you guys plan to install one?
According to my research:
Pro's: More gains than a short RAM because it sucks cold air, while the short RAM sucks in hot air from the engine compartment.
Con's: Always a possibility of sucking in water during the rainy season because of its location - usually near the bumper area. A solution would be installing a bypass valve.
I'll add some more info later when I get more research done. |

| Haven't tried it but in principle it suppose to give you an extra power considering cold air is used for combustion which also means the air is more compact. |

I'm using a cold air intake now with HKS filter. Ok naman performance, deeper sound than a short ram. Yung filter nakaposition sa likod ng front bumper banda sa driver side. Hindi naman aabutan ng baha, water level must not cover more than 1/2 of the wheel safe ka pa

fabricated sa akin, exactly same lang sa style ng hotshot, stillen and aem cai. Still using the stock maf sensor, nakaextend lang ang tube all the way down sa likod ng front bumper. |

Yup there's also this Celica at Speedyfix naka CAI. Water also got ingested through the filter and his engine's connecting rods broke. _________________

At least SUV tayo hehe higher ground clearance auto natin in stock form compare to sedans. Which makes it safer using a CAI. Mahirap lagyan ng bypass valve sa atin, walang space eh pero kaya siguro kung custom piping |
