Hi guys,

To those who have integrated a subwoofer in their Xty - what kind of enclosure do you have & where did you locate it?

I seem to have noticed somebody who has a subwoofer enclosure that seems part of the interior which my best guess is fiberglass? I cant seem to locate that picture at the moment Crying or Very sad

If you have some pics of your Xty's sub enclosure, I would appreciate it if you can post those here so I can get some ideas Very Happy

I didnt want to go to the complexity of removing one of my rear sidings for molding purposes for a sub box, so I thought of experimenting in finding out what enclosure I could build in the right side corner of the xty.

Sorry sa pic - phone cam at the moment:

I preliminary used cardboard to maximize the volume I could get for the sub, will add resin & fiberglass later on to hold its shape. For thickness, either I will add wood or more fiberglass - or a combination of both.

I will be using a 10" JL Sub in a sealed enclosure of about 1 ft^3

I had the whole cardboard mock-up fiberglassed, then proceeded with adding more fiberglass to the inside of the sub box to achieve atleast 1/2" thick all around.

Since it was an odd shaped enclosure, the only means for me of getting the internal volume of the enclosure is to place water inside.
The box took in about 6 gallons of water which resulted to about .80 cubic foot. My sub only required a net volume of about .65 net, so this would be great for our application.

Paint nalang kulang - oks na Very Happy

Eto na sir Very Happy

Finally had it painted & took it to my ICE pro installer in Las Pinas. Took the opportunity to take some pics as well - sorry phone cam lang Razz

We're still planning on the amplifier rack as well as the rear flooring - which is why there's plywood.

Medyo naka pila pa ako since my ICE installer has 3 more setups in front of me, so I'm just doing what I can while waiting & of course to lessen the install time.

Pls let me know what you think about the sub box Smile

While nothing yet is definite, I could make the sub box detachable - either that or create a custom tray to house the jack & tire wrench in the middle of the spare tire. Seems there's a lot of space there.

Atleast, if you need tire servicing - just open the center floor compartment to get both jack & spare tire Very Happy

Hi again,

I just thought I'd update my very slow progress in ICE - may pila pa din ang pro installer ko eh Razz

I finally finished the rear flooring - used 1/2" plywood, covered with leather & we molded the plastic bars of the original then replicated it in fiberglass.

I removed the plastic handle from the original & integrated it in the new flooring. Nissan Westgate was selling this plastic handle for 625 pesos, but out of stock sila at the moment.
I guess we might as well use the plastic handle since the original flooring will be kept anyway.

I also made the amp rack in fiberglass with a 1/4" plywood cover with a rectangular vent covered with a chrome grille/screen - leftover from a previous custom DIY. Both the fiberglass amp rack & the plywood cover was then covered with leather.

I still cant decide if I want to continue in placing those plastic bars to the 3" high vertical side of the amp rack Rolling Eyes

any thoughts or comments?
