I believe it's twice a year, but it will still depends on the condition of your vehicle on how often you have your vehicle waxed. There are some that only applies it once a year. |

There's really no required number of times that you have to do steps 1, 2 and 3 on your car. If the car is well maintained then you don't have to do steps 1, 2 and 3 over and over again. This is because doing this will thin the layer of paint on your car. Step 1 takes out the swirls and minor scratches of your car, step 2 polishes your car, and step 3 is for protection. To achieve steps 1 and 2, top layer of your paint is thinned to take out the scratches and polish it again. so you have a fresh layer of paint. Now if this is done frequently makakalbo ang paint ng kotse. just try to maintain your car all the time, don't use cleaning materials that might scratch your car. madami kasi brands claiming they are the best but its all marketing. Know the proper way of washing, cleaning, drying, and waxing your car to avoid swirls. This way step 3 lang ang kailangan mo gawin. 1s in awhile you can polish your car to achieve that shine. Hope i was able to share some info. _________________ DO IT SIDEWAYS! |

Actually most Step 2 products "fill" in scratches rather than thin the paint layer until the scratch disappears. I usually do a 2 step process (Klasse All-In-One polish followed by Zaino Z2) every three months or depending on the amount of swirls and scratches that I see. _________________

IMO the word "3-Step" is a Marketing-Phrase. In detailing there are no fixed steps. You do what is necessary to maintain your car, whether be it compounding, polishing, sealing, claying, or waxing etcetera etcetera.
Ok, for the sake of arguement, a "3-Step" will not necessariy thin out your cars paint, it will depend on the products you'll use.
Most products off the shelf (e.g. Mothers 3-step, Megs 3-step) contain very mild abrasives and paint cleaners so you don't have to worry about thining out the paint so this won't be an issue when you use these products specially if you apply them by hand.
There are also professional grade products that range from abrasive to very abrasive, but these products are generally sold in bulk, so I don't think a regular joe like me would buy these products unless I have a detailing shop. _________________

| Hi, newbie here. For me, I use Turtle Wax (carnuba)on my car, results are ok, it makes the car paint shine and looks glossy and even smooth to touch. I also tried using Meguiar's Cleaner wax to remove water marks. |

Hi hubsnswitches! Welcome to the forum any wax with carnauba in it is good naman, it lasts longer and produces a good shine. Problem lang is the application, you have to buff longer than you'd have to with synthetic waxes. _________________ we ride together, we die together...bad boys for life...

You can't remove swirls with a wax, your just simply filling in the gaps in the paint. To remove swirls, you need to polish it with a compound or a polisher. Applying wax while the car is still wet? Mmmm.... 1st time I heard that. _________________

well if the wax is designed to be applied without drying the car then good but these waxes don't last long maybe 2 to 3 days tops with hot and humid weather.
But you need to dry your car before applying the traditional wax, the reason, so that wax can be properly applied on the surface of the car, so that i can stick properly to the surface and last longer. if you apply it on a wet surface it is a wasted of effort and money.
Try asking any professional about this and see what they think, am sure they'll tell you the same answer _________________
