I had the X-Trail serviced at Nissan Mantrade, Pasong Tamo Ext. for its 5tkm PMS, when it was returned, the steering wheel was very heavy to turn. When I complained to the service advisor, he said they didn't touch anything.

When I complained to Mantrade and returned my car, I got it back with the same problem, plus a deep scratch at the center of my hood. And worst of all, when I used the windshield washer, the paint on my hood and roof developed cracked spots (a few hundred of them). Preliminary investigation showed the water from the windshield washer was contaminated with chemical (battery acid???).

I have complained to Nissan Mantrade again, but the hood and roof will definitely need to be repainted. And I am heaving second thoughts about having it done there. Who knows what else may happen to this Xty.

Post it here at Nissanbayan at the Dear Nissan section. I think they have a member who works for Mantrade:

Got my XTrail back. They seem to have been able to remove the cracks. Even the scratch is not noticeable anymore. Don't know how they did it. But hats off ako. Am just wondering why Mother's weren't able to fix it.

Maybe they wet-sanded and then polished it.

Yes. They said they have a special procedure, but its basically buffing daw.

Calling Willard, maybe you can shed more light on this? Thanks.

IMO they did the following:
1. Wet Sanding
2. Used a Rotary with a strong polish/compound or maybe a 3M rubbing compound to even it out.
3. Wax to top it off.

Wink

well its already been answered by some of our members here at the forum. basically if the scractch is not that deep a little wet sanding or rubbing compound would do the trick and top it off with some wax. while the little cracks maybe removed by having it wet sand with 3M 2000 grade sandpaper then a little rubbing compound(magic) good as new.

hi k.o. my car was there last apr 14 & 15. i brought it in to have some white paint drops and the deep scratch removed. they suggested the 3-step process. after the 3-step, the paint drops were removed, but they said the scratch cannot be removed unless the hood is repainted. also, since the car was now shiny, the paint cracks became visible.

overall, am satisfied with the service at mother's and intend to back for the periodic waxing.
