I'm planning to buy a HID kit from Roadstar located at the fort area. They are selling it to me around Php8K(high and low beam), is it a good buy? They told me that they offer a 1 year warranty for parts and service. is there a specific brand that I have to look for in terms of quality?
Gusto ko sana pakabit sa casa mismo (Nissan Westgate), but they are charging around 12-13K for the HID kit....any suggestions?
Thanks |

Hey eboy, yup. so far im happy with the hid. maganda ang spread ng light, hindi sabog. (maybe because i left the defuser on? tama ba spelling?) i went to subic for the weekend and the drive was very nice! love those HIDs! only problem was.. it was proven that strong rain, wet asphalt and HIDs dont go well together. |

hello chef, i think i saw your hid brand in a shop i frequent (metal box ang package) & you really had a good deal there.
naku that's the catch when using blue-to-white lights, when it rains heavily parang pader ang ulan & asphalt seems to absorb & make the light throw short, pero...gwapo talaga so okay lang.
mthanks for the heads-up chef - i'll remember to keep the diffuser when & if i upgrade, although i might keep a set of all-weathers sa fogs or vice-versa.
safe driving bro! |

chef did you try it without the diffuser?
that's what's keeping me from getting hid lamps - ulan. am looking to get nice yellow ones for the heads and fogs. |

yup! the main disadvantage of having hids is the poor visibility when it's pouring down hard. hindi naman total black out, you can still see but better parin with halogens. all in all, it's tolerable
chubibo, no i did not try the hids without the diffuser. baka magandahan lang ako at hindi na ibalik lol but seriously, no, i did not try it without the diffuser. actually, that's one thing i hate most about some who remove their diffusers. sabog talaga yung ilaw, as in kalat. masakit na sa mata. maybe that's one of the reasons why they almost banned the use of hids some time back because it became a road hazard. (no pun intended, just a personal opinion ) |

Any word on projector headlights for our x-trails yet?
i recently upgraded to a pair of 6000k HIDs. Di maganda ang cut-off since di nakaprojector. I'm worried that im endangering oncoming motorists but im not sure since ive never seen my car from other motorists perspectives. Comments? My HID kit is from Bosch.
Attached is a link to a picture of what the beam looks like pagnakatutok sa pader

Hi Camote. With regard to the projector retrofit, you can have it done.. although it's a little pricey. i will look for the link and post it here for your reference. As for your hid spread, looks okay to me. not too low, not too high either. mine's a little high so i have to adjust it.. was thinking of those laser alignments they offer at some shops. are you guys familiar with that? _________________ masakit man sa bulsa, masarap naman sa mata! |

hi chef904, walang kwenta yung laser alignment.. mas ok pa rin yung tutok sa pader.. i have mine laser align pero wala pa rin sa focus, so back to tutok.. _________________

any idea how much a retrofit would cost?
im also thinking of smoked headlights.. how much would they cost?
provided i get a projector retrofit and smoked headlights, is the process reversible? |

If you use 6000K HIDs you won't see anything during fog or heavy rain. Better go with 4300K HIDs or 3000K HIDs it'll provide better visibility, also it'll be better if you have projector headlights, to put it bluntly HIDs in a non-projector type headlight is blinding to your fellow motorist. _________________
