Magkano ba sir? |

Sire speedyfix, i had my tanabe exhaust installed at your shop. Satisfied ako sa work niyo... mabilis at maingat mga gumagawa. anyway, i wanted to inquire about advance timing. Meron ba itong pros and cons? and if i'll have that done how much will it cost? thanks... _________________ DO IT SIDEWAYS! |

If you advance timing too much you might experience detonation which is bad for the engine. _________________

The recommended timing for X-Trails (and most Nissan engines) is 15 degrees before top dead center (BTDC) with a variance of plus or minus 2 degrees. So theoretically that would mean a timing of 13 up to 17 degrees BTDC would be tolerated by the engine. However due to the poor gas quality in the Philippines pushing the timing to 17 would result in detonation. I suggest not to go past 15 or even set it at 14 or 13 to have some allowance for loading bad gas. _________________

I'm not sure you would feel anything as 15 BTDC is the recommended timing from the factory. Your car could already be using that setting but it's better to check to be sure. _________________

Thanks sir conan... i went to speedyfix already just awhile ago. nakausap ko nga si migs. had my atf changed. superb service ayos talaga... altho i didnt have my timing advanced anymore. medyo kabado ako dun sa detonation that you guys are talking about. satisfied pa naman ako for now so ill just stick to other mods muna. but thanks so much for all the info... i sure learned alot! _________________ DO IT SIDEWAYS! |

Ask Migs for the directions, they had their Silvia pipings fabricated there. I've only been there once and I don't remember how to get there. It's in the vicinity of J.P. Rizal. _________________
