Hi Guys,

I just came here in manila, and im happy with my first driving experience.

My first violation was during 2nd time when i was caught by a police officer that i didn't see the red light (turning left). my mistake.. tsk tsk

but last night, my bro in law was driving, when suddenly a polic officer wave at us, maybe a sign to slow down, but we notice that we are in green light and we are the last vehicle to pass, we don't know the reason why we were flagged down, but my bro in law didn't slow down, he just ignore the police and nothing happened. i asked him why we were flag down, he told me maybe the police officer wants to extort some money, thats the usual thing here.

how many of you guys experienced this? like no violations being flagged down? what should we do with this?

Considering the modus operandi of some notorious car jack syndicate or extortionist, I you feel that the place is dangerous meaning there are only a few or no cars passing, might as well go to the nearest police station. Assuming that the traffic officer is legitimate and that you indeed violated a traffic regulation, you can still reason out that you're just being cautious that's why you drove to the police station.
