Thanks for your advise macdon. Initially, I plan to have them delivered the mags to my place in Marikina but then a friend told me to check them out first kasi baka daw may tama or gasgas yung mai-deliver.

How was it in your case? I read they delivered it to your place.

I called Freddy's yesterday, Dunlop tires are priced at P7.1K. I just forgot to ask kung magkano nila bibilhin ung stock na mags ng xtrail ko.

I asked ma'am Khaye to hand pick 4 of their best looking Murano mags which I investigated first before paying - oks naman lahat Very Happy
In my place here in the south, their delivery charge of 300 was a lot cheaper compared to me going to their place in QC - kaya sulit na.

As for the Dunlop 702s - you could probably get those for 6.9k each at Freddys. Nasa 20k yung set of 4 if you trade-in your old xty mags & tires.

I called them already. They only have Pirelli's and Nankang's for 235x50x18.

Are pirelli's okay?

guys will a tire size of 235/55/18 fit our xty ? and how true that heavier weight of mags/tires (meaing from stock to 18's ) has a little bit drag therefore giving more consumption in fuel.

That's very true, also since you're getting a wider tire, it will increase rolling resistance and aerodynamic drag from the front. The reality however may be a minimal increase in fuel consumption lang.

if i may add guys,
from what i've heard, (& eventually noticed during my 'younger years'),
generally a larger wheelset will give better high-end speed
& mileage sa what we call 'sa rektahan na speed' if that's the right term.
but acceleration will be less, & smaller wheels the opposite effect.
(ex. two bicycles, one with small, the other big wheels - same gears/ratio.)

so imo your fuel consumption will still ultimately depend on how
you drive & pa rin, unless the weight of the new tires/wheel vs. stock
is considerably more then that'll be cause for concern.
otherwise i think the difference eg. drag, rolling resistance, etc. would be negligible.

(uy mukhang shopping na ng mags bro ah? hehe pasilip ha?) Very Happy

Almost all tire brands carry the 235X55X18 pattern. To name a few are Dunlop, Bridgestone, Toyo, Yokohama (advan),Falken (ohtsu) etc. Ur choice will depend on the design & price Smile Happy shopping Smile

I always believed that changing the tire/mags to something bigger, thus heavier means more fuel consumption and more wear & tear to the suspension......by how much, dunno really Rolling Eyes

Of course choosing a very low profile tire causes "tagtag" to both riders as well as the suspension - so definitely a suspension tweak may be in order Very Happy

When I went to Freddy's and decided to get the Dunlop tires - I asked them if they could show me the Nangkang tire of the same size to atleast peruse why they were selling it at 1k less than dunlop.

Fact is, the Nangkangs were even a bit higher (maybe 1/2") over the Dunlop which the shop termed as "low profile".
However, the dunlop's side profile is straighter, while the Nangkang is a bit curve (parang mas mataba) - which is why I went for the Dunlops. Besdies, mas maganda thread ni Dunlop Very Happy
